Howdy, fellow rangers!

We are happy to see that the part 2 update revolving around the town hall mechanics has been well received so far. Now after the election period which ended last weekend, the town hall seats scaling is completely based on the real numbers calculated from server activity. Previous election periods had still benefited from a seat count head start that we gave all servers when the update went live, resulting in an expanded number of seats which saw a gradual decline up to the current election period.

In the meantime, we were working on Part 3 of the Endgame concept which is centered around the game’s sites (aka buildings) for gaining fame. It is the most complex of our updates because it has a direct impact on gameplay that you're all very familiar with, but should still contain solutions and improvements in line with the goals we've set out as developers. A tricky beast for sure which took us quite a few iterations on various ideas and concepts until we finally reached a point where we feel that we can share something with you. The design concept is still a rather early draft that we want to improve upon based on your feedback. So, let us give you an overview of what is planned so far:

Main Goals:
  • Allow smaller clans to be able to get access to buildings’ fame items without the need to be part of a large alliance.
  • Improve the gameplay around buildings for both defenders and attackers. A key goal is to make it easier for attackers to be successful.

Concept Summary:
All buildings in all zones will have a daily synchronized 4-hour transfer phase where they are open for takeovers. Successful takeovers will automatically pass on the building to the attacker. There can only be one successful takeover for a given building during the 4-hour transfer phase, which means that if you succeed in the takeover of a building, it will be safe until the next day’s transfer phase. The items produced by the buildings are automatically given to the clan who owns the building by the time that the transfer phase is ending.

Notable changes from the concept:
  • Supply packs will cost Clan Dollars instead of Gold Coins.
  • Yield will start at a new minimum level once a building is held by a new owner; it can then be upgraded to higher tiers using supply packs. (Yield will not change randomly anymore.)
  • Defending and attacking is only possible within a set 4-hour phase each day.
  • No manual fame item collection from buildings anymore, instead items are collected automatically once per day.
  • Building attack/defense changes
    • If at least one attacker is in the building area it will cause the building to be drained at a fixed rate.
    • If one defender is in the building area the building status will fill up again at a fixed rate which is lower than the draining rate.
    • In the case of multiple clans participating in the same attack, the clan with the most “draining time” gets the building.
    • Attacking a building no longer requires any items to be used.

We tried to keep certain elements as they are on live servers, but adjust important aspects to change how sites/buildings will be approached in the future. This will allow us to bring you the update much earlier than something that completely changes the core system.
We plan to make a Public PTR Test with an open map for fights around buildings as well, so you can join for an early access and feedback round to help us shape the update.

While the above changes apply to both Travel Gates and Claims, it's also planned to have additional and special gameplay for the Claim buildings as a later follow-up update which will play out differently than the fight around Travel Gates.

Care to explain it more why you feel that?

Will that 4 hour period always be at same time when it goes on live servers? And will it be same on each server or no?
The period is server time based. So it varies per region (EU, US, Asia) We plan to put the 4 hours around the usual peak times where users are online. Lets say between 17-21:00 as an example.

Will portals be individual pickup or can all clan members collect? @Highway @Evyus
Players will not need to pick it up manually anymore. It will be done automatically when the transfer phase has ended. Check out the infographic where the purple arrow is :)

I like the timed base transfer system quite a neat way to stop macro users that auto supply gates.
Question.
What will be of Supply gels now, will they be reworked to give more % defend/attack during transfer phase?

During vulnerable phase there will be no item production? And do items produced before that phase begins go to clan that held that building at the time of production phase?

Well spotted, that this also fixed that auto clicker issue :)
Supply power gels will change to something usefull. Right now we have not fully decided which it will be.

how to buy sc with clan dollars?
It will be a store for clan equipment in dinoville where it can be purchased with clan dollar.

Yes items are only produced during the "producion phase". Items will only transfer at the end of the "transfer phase". This allows the attacker to steal all the items from the building when they are able to takeover the building.

hmm now I understand, so if a clan takes the portals in the time that is open, the fame goes to the winner, yes? this will be great to see 👀

Yes but on the other hand the clans have clear time when they prepare for defend and the attackers to pick their targets. It helps to split the forces around all buidlings at the same time making it more difficult if you have many buldings. It will get a daily event character that way each evening.

2 players donate dd to clan, who can buy sc?
The clan member with the the clan rank that allows it.

This essentialy means that many players will be forced into pve only mode. Currently attacks happen at different times which also allows for more strategy and opportunities to take camps when the holders aren't online or don't pay enough attention. Forcing everyone to play at the same time would not make it easier for the smaller clans but give even more advantage to the clans that can gather the most people during those 4 hours. It will also encourage people to use multiple accounts to attack/defend many servers at the same time, while people that aren't cheating will only be able to attack/defend one.

What happens if the clan inventory is too small to contain all of the items? They simply get lost? This would also mean that the smaller clans with smaller inventories can't get all of the fame they earned for their attack.

There is no need to supply the building anymore. Supply packs are used to upgrade the yield of the building.
Only the member with a certain rank will be allowed to upgrade building yield
And how much will such upgrade cost?

Now preparations will be important and time to reach gate will also be important. This mean jump links will have a greater effect on game play and we can use the jump link blocking strategy as well. Although I am still questioning how fair it is since some people play on 13 brazilian accounts at the same time and spam kits.

as the defenders are the majority, it would be easy for them to organize and prepare for the times of the attacks, no?

You need 65 players to cover all claims and gate. Given that their is 1 player per gate, you can group up with your ally and target this weakness.

Clans need to split their forces wihin the that 4 hour window to all buildings on all maps. (over 50 buildings) An attacker can focus on a single building instead to take it over within minutes. Once its fully drainded its taken over until next day and the items are looted. We think I might get more interessting that way ;)

We are still evaluating that aspect to make it more usefull. We try to ensure that it will not be a huge issue for small clans and bigger clans can extend their inventory if they have many buildings.

And how much clan dollars will it cost to purchase it?
A detail that is not yet final.
