Dino Storm and the Splitscreen
Dino Storm, an MMORPG game featuring dinosaurs and laser weapons. A great proposal for children, officially launched in 2013 and even winning an award for best browser MMORPG of its year. A game that holds wonderful memories for me with much affection. But we all know the sad reality: "either you die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain." And that is exactly what happened to our beloved Dino Storm. Currently, the game is abandoned by the administration and only has unemployed bearded players left. If you think that's bad, tell me when was the last time you saw a Game Master online managing our beloved game. Our dear Splitscreen keeps the servers running out of pure greed. Like it or not, players still spend a lot of money on the game, spending more and more gold. I remember when I played, 3k gold was a lot, it was considered flaunting. Nowadays, 22k goes unnoticed; it’s practically the minimum for you to be something in the game. Splitscreen has so much greed that even their updates are LAZY, all bringing only new options for you to spend your money. The company pretends to listen to its players, but if we take a quick look at the forum, we will see that they really don't care. There are several great ideas to improve the game, revolutionary ideas, from players begging the company for a worthy investment that would bring the game back to life. A great example of this is when players asked for a new game trailer, showing the news of their updates and proposals. They actually delivered a new trailer, but it wasn't like the first one that hyped the game so much back then. For me, if you put this trailer next to the old ones, I wouldn't be able to say which is more recent. They simply used a tool from the game itself to make their OFFICIAL trailer, man, do you understand the LEVEL?
Community
Here we enter our next chapter, where we will talk a little about the Dino Storm community. Here we have the following example of "the country deserves its ruler"; the company, Splitscreen, is a terrible company, however, the community does not disappoint. A completely toxic community that severely abuses loopholes in the game, not like a hack to have infinite dd (Dino Dollars) or to get everything for free in the game, but rather to ruin the accounts of those who do not agree with their opinions. Players discovered loopholes in Splitscreen's support, where with a silly little text, a screenshot of the person saying anything that, when somewhat out of context, seemed offensive, they would get a permanent ban on their account. It reached such a high level that certain players became feared by others. Nowadays, no one uses the in-game chat anymore because they know that any mistake on their part could lead to a ban on their account, and there is no way to ARGUE against that ban. Splitscreen does not explain nothing, it doesn’t give you a warning in advance, depending on the argument or something like that. At most, you receive some MUTES as a prior warning, which simply means you can’t use the chat. This same community has literally started a Parallel Market for Dino Storm accounts. Dude, they are trafficking accounts of a dinosaur game! But this is something normal in many games, right? Right! But all games strongly repudiate this behavior and make it clear that it is not allowed and is subject to banning. But my dear, we are talking about Splitscreen. It pretends to care about this and denounce the behavior, but the truth is that it simply doesn’t care because, like it or not, this brings them a lot of profit. Whenever someone buys a new account, they often spend a lot of money not just buying the account, where I’ve seen a single account cost over R$3000.00, but also spending a lot on buying gold to buff their new account. This has simply ruined the game; you rarely see any new players or an old player leveling up an account from scratch, going through the struggles and difficulties of becoming lvl MAX in the game. It's so serious that the game magnates have bad accounts that they set aside and distribute to new and old players who don't have accounts, calling them 'war accounts.' So, right from the start, the new player quickly loses interest and the desire to have their own account and level up and feel the essence of the game. It's even funny to talk about it, and because of this, people started emerging who do a sort of freelance work, farming to put some money on the account and get them ready for wars. The game is literally full pay to win. And since the game's administration is simply terrible, with some Game Masters, known GM's, who only come once in a lifetime to say you can't talk nonsense in the chat and hang around somewhere on the map vegetating, the ds community ended up becoming its own administrators. The players with more influence in the community, like leaders of clans and alliances of clans began to come together and formed a global Dino Storm community, in WhatsApp the community is called Splitscreen. Dude, I don't even doubt that the GMs themselves or other members of Splitscreen are in this group as admins, because it makes no sense for them not to take down something like this. But I don't doubt Splitscreen, those guys are horrible. And in this community, we have two main groups, one for you to chat normally and another for you to buy or sell your Dino Storm account. It's actually quite well managed, they hold events and have more influence in the game than Splitscreen itself. And this is just a part of how rotten this game, its company, and its community are, which leak intimate photos of teenagers.
Thanks.
