Lately, the relationship between the average player and the developers has become honestly horrible. And we have to be real: this game doesn't have much time left.
We see zero new players, and the same old player base is slowly retiring due to the persistent lack of content. Players looking for action are barely showing up anymore, largely because of the new drain system (or whatever specific system you are referring to) and other recent changes.
I genuinely hope that 2026 will be a good year for the game—or at least, for what remains of it.

They don't care about content creators or who gets most views in YouTube

they care about one thing: "Wars" aka main activity in the game.

Thats their focus and speaking of "wars" it always existed since game came out.

They "DONT" care about casual grinders or solo grinders.

They "CARE" about collective activity aka "WARS" which exists in active servers and it does pretty well for the game so they don't care who stays or leaves as long as wars happen :')

w all due respect my friend , but the game IS dying idk what you r on about war this war that , i get it war is the main source of action in this game but if u think that the old ds and the new ds has the same vibe u r mistaken , if u r an eu1/am1 player i get it u might think the game is still alive , but other servers r barely alive am5/eu3 barely have 7 gates per map , as for kos well we can say that we barely have any and even if we do they will just quit mid fight because its 1v3 and this is like the minimum number i picked , and back to wars , the only ongoing war rn is am1 and asia1 that only happenes once every month if the players logged , so ye its dying , it doesnt matter if u agree or not , if u really want to check how dead it is go visit the servers i mentioned , and idk if the so called new content will help w that either , i love the game i do but the devs r barely doing anything good for the community , i wish they can prove me wrong and do sm that will make us believe in them again . w all due respect to em ofc

I bet that in 2026 they'll just be releasing cyber clothing sets every 3 months, nothing more than that. After all, they haven't even announced a new dev shack. Considering that each announcement of a "big" update takes at least a year to be ready... it's best to hope that 2027 be a good year

We also need to add the DS to Steam. How is it possible that the DS isn't on Steam? Right now, any game can get on Steam for just $100. It's not much, and it's not difficult.

Maybe Steam will take a small percentage of each in-game purchase, but the upside is that the game will reach a wider player base.

I think the game is dying because there's no longer a scarcity of things. For instance, 5 years ago, you had to work hard to achieve or collect a certain desired set of clothes. Now you don't. You download a VPN and connect it to a third-world country, then go ahead and create yourself a brand new character, whilst having the perk of being able to buy anything that you want with a 90% off discount. Great, now imagine the imbalance that would happen when half of the community (if not more) is participating in it. This, and selling/trading accounts with no restrictions/penalties (bro, come on, let players have some fun!)- well, why don't you say this to Highway? (bro, come on, f*** that bald guy) ok, ok... now to top it off, back in the day, you would attack a player, and that could eventually lead to impregnation(metaphorically)(yes I'm delusional xD) but... I genuinely believe Romeo and Juliet met in Dino Storm, but that could not happen anymore. Why? Well...because now if you attack a player(in a playful way), you're officially considered Shrek and therefore Shrek can't be content without Donkey or Fiona, who represent the community lacking any bit of enthusiasm...so to summarize, the game is dying because people aren't playing it the way it should be played(by breaking rules, having hatred towards one another for no apparent reason, and ofcourse, lack of LGBTQ activities)

im glad i dont need steam for DS steam has always had downloads problems by being cursed enough to patch files for way too long on multiple games or even having slow download no ty better non-steam download than download that never matches my normal download speed as far as im concerned

Agreed, same thing goes about remodeling new dino looks or overall graphic. For achieve this they would prolly need to change full engine on which the game is currently running on.

DS doesn't need to change its graphics; DS graphics are very good as they are, despite being from 2012. It's not fair to compare AA or AAA games to DS, which is practically an indie game.

Before trying to attract new players, the game needs a complete overhaul of its progression system, as well as its PvP. And a new objective, as attractive as or even more so than Rex's, needs to be added

Sorry, but you are deeply mistaken. You’re most likely stuck in the bubble of your own server or AM1–2. I strongly suggest taking a look at the Asia servers and AM3, AM4, and AM5 to actually see what’s going on with portals and mayor elections.

The last time we had more than two sheriffs per cycle was when the mechanic was first released, and it’s been over a year since AM3 had all portals activated by clans instead of Dino Ville.

Dino Storm is basically on life support, kept alive by nostalgic players who refuse to let it die. I love this game, but it genuinely hurts to see the state it’s in: repetitive events, recycled skins, fake accounts, and a severe lack of players.

My server, which not long ago gave me real joy and kept me online for over six hours a day, now barely holds my attention. I log in only a few times a month and almost never buy anything during sales, because on an abandoned server… who’s even going to notice what I own?

I have spent money in this game to make the evolution of my dinos faster... To log in and see what they have done to the game. It's disrespectful and it makes me so sad because this is and always will be my favorite game when it comes to the lore and graphics. But the developers really need to leave this game to someone more capable because they dont listen to us.
