Map Overhaul idea

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

since the update of the map in 2016 which brought the addition of the current Road like maps, many of us did not like this addition at all. When farming, doing pvp we always choose a open land area in order to do that more freely. It would not be a bad idea to think about overhauling the maps (like merging them and widening them too). This could really add that layer of complexity at warfare too. Like for example you have to defend a gate from 6 sides. Wars could be done with more strategys.


What i think about (I took Kalimdor from WoW as a reference but obviusly you should arrange it in other ways):

It could make for more dynamic warfare especially when all the gates are under attack.
Additionally it makes hunting, farming, events, even potential world bosses (if you consider that) more fun to clash.

But then people may run into higher tier areas (as i said: not maps. There should only be one massive map) without even noticing!
Add a Warning or make the player x% faster as the enemy is stronger.


I really belive this addition will make the game more fun towards wars. For example EU1 is currently "peaceful" which only makes the server more dead because there is no "imperial" objective.

wait for endgame's 2nd and 3rd parts being implemented xd

Having all the maps merged into one is a cool idea. Like a big open world map.

game engine can barely handle 5 people hunting at otis without having issues i cant possibly imagine so many stuff in 1 area but yes it could be a nice idea

Well all 5 maps are located in 1 physical server in real life already and information is constantly being relayed to the server from all 5 maps ,in real life time, such as monster activity, gates interaction, etc... . I think it's possible to make an open world map that won't affect the game on the server side; server sided lag and such. The only problem I can see happening would be an additional initial delay when booting up the game. Well everything is up the the devs. They are already busy with the new upcoming update but this open world map could be a thing in the future. @Gruni

even if thats the case for that to happen maps must get reworked/reverted and somehow merge it so it doesnt look like minecraft changing biomes lmao. Either way its too much trouble and will take a gigantic amount of time considering the fact that they are a small team and they work on 2 games. After being done with the current update they are doing in my opinion its best to start reworking some of the dinos/guns/implants/techs so they are all equally viable for example rage implant is completely worthless or even rework the missions or the way you unlock things because who wants to do the same thing 100 times to unlock something? its literal madness doing the same thing over and over again
