Game Update July 15, 2020
Between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM UTC+2, the game servers will restart for an update to be deployed.
Update Changelog
First of all: This update is not yet the big balancing update we had announced earlier. The balancing update will require lots of testing—if you haven't already, please consider becoming an official tester!
NEW FEATURES
- A confirmation popup window will now be shown when you click on any of the "Renew" buttons for renewing clothes from the profile or inventory window. This has been added in order to prevent accidental renewing of items.
IMPROVEMENTS
- We have greatly improved and optimized the internal workings of how the game is handling combat. Some of these optimizations lead to less data packets being sent between client and server, so if your connection to our game servers is not that great, you could be seeing great improvements in how combat "feels".
- The server-client movement sync interval has been shortened; this means that observed movements of other players will now mirror the actual movements in their game client more precisely.
- Note that this change may be reverted when it is found to impact server load too much.
- There is no more delay before the first shot is fired in an attack. Depending on the weapon type, said delay could be almost unbearably long…
- Your ranger will now always point their gun towards the selected attack target.
- Improved several aspects of T-Rex's Battle Cry
- Battle Cry will now also chase away Coelophysis, Pachycephalosaurus and Centrosaurus when they have already closed in on T-Rex via their Jump Attack, Flying Headbutt or Dash Attack skills and T-Rex had stayed put.
- Note: The Battle Cry's Fear effect will no longer affect the mentioned dinosaurs when they are in the middle of their mentioned homing attack skill; T-Rex riders should perform their Battle Cry before or after such an attack.
- Stunned or paralyzed dinosaurs also are no longer affected by Battle Cry's Fear effect.
- Dinosaurs affected by T-Rex's Battle Cry will no longer be able to keep attacking on their flight away from T-Rex. But: Rangers riding on fleeing dinosaurs can still use their weapons to fight back.
- Battle Cry will now also chase away Coelophysis, Pachycephalosaurus and Centrosaurus when they have already closed in on T-Rex via their Jump Attack, Flying Headbutt or Dash Attack skills and T-Rex had stayed put.
- Improved several aspects of the Bleed and Burn status effects
- The Bleed status effect is now linked to dino damage, while Burn is linked to weapon damage.
- Dino Defense Tech and Shield Implant now offer protection against these status effects, as applicable.
- Each damage "tick" (Bleed and Burn cause damage more than once over time) will always hit its target if the status effect was successfully applied.
- Skills wil only apply Bleed or Burn when they successfully hit the target.
- Neither the Aim attribute, nor critical hits affect the damage caused by Bleed or Burn.
- Damage caused by Bleed or Burn does not affect the Claws attribute (hitting more targets in close combat).
- The Gatling's Curtain Fire skill now applies burning instead of bleeding when used with extra power.
- Less Alpha Smilodons now spawn in the area of Sara O'Donnell's group quest "Tourist Preservation" in Green Volcano.
BUG FIXES
- Fixed a bug that could cause combat mode to not properly activate when a dino or weapon skill was used to initiate the attack (PvP only).
- Fixed a bug that could cause the red target marker, which signals a unit being hostile towards the player, to suddenly turn white in the middle of combat.
- Stunned or paralyzed dinosaurs will no longer turn to face close-combat targets while they are immobilized.
- Computer-controlled enemy units now deplete their extra power bar when they are out of combat, just like players do.
- Computer-controlled enemy units will now correctly use their recovery attribute for healing during battle.
- Actively running weapon skills can no longer be interrupted by idle animations.
- Fixed an issue that made dropped Power Gels look like Damage Booster items.
- Fixed a small graphical issue where a 1-pixel gap would show between a popup window's top and bottom borders and the shadows extending from them.
