1. Market Abuse / Gold Exploitation
Problem: Players might use the gift feature to transfer high-value items, creating a black market or bypassing the official trade/market systems.

- Restrict gifting to non-tradeable items (e.g., cosmetics, boosters, consumables).
- Disallow Gold and market items from being gifted.
- Make gifted items account-bound (cannot be sold or traded once received).
2. Alt Account Exploitation
Problem: Players could create multiple fake accounts to send free gifts to their main account.

- Require a minimum account level (e.g. level 10) to gift or receive.
- Allow gifting only to friends/clan members added for at least 7 days.
- Limit the number of gifts per day/week per account.
3. Overpowered Help to New Players
Problem: New players could be gifted strong items, disrupting the natural game progression.

- Allow gifting only of low-tier items or visual/cosmetic rewards.
- Introduce a “Gift Tier” system, allowing only items suitable for the recipient’s level.
- Include a daily gift cap to avoid over-supplying any player.
4. Spam / Unwanted Gifts
Problem: Players might receive spam gifts or items they don’t want.

- Add a “Receive Gifts” toggle in player settings.
- Implement a “Gift Confirmation” prompt before accepting the item.
- Include a gift inbox with the ability to accept/decline.
5. Inventory Overload
Problem: Players might receive too many items, overloading their inventory.

- Gifts go to a separate gift inbox where they can be claimed manually.
- Automatically discard expired/unclaimed gifts after a set time (e.g. 7 days).
- Display inventory capacity warning before accepting gifts.
6. Technical & Backend Complexity
Problem: The system might complicate inventory management or server processing.

- Use a separate “Gift System” module, isolated from trade and market code.
- Use gift tokens or “wrapped” versions of existing items to simplify delivery.
- Test with a beta rollout or limited-time event gifting before full launch.
7. Unfair Gifting in Events
Problem: Players might gift event rewards or boost scores unfairly during competitive events.

- Block event items from being giftable.
- Temporarily disable gifting during competitive phases.
- Flag gifted items to be non-eligible for event scoring.
By addressing these issues proactively, Dino Storm can safely implement a gift system that enhances the social and cooperative aspects of the game while protecting fairness and balance.
