dropping medals now?

I have been playing about an hour and could not figure out anything that had changed in the newest update till just now. You can drop medals. I'm not carrying gold so I'm not sure about that. Put your valuables in a safe place.

omg... i hafe sometimes like 4 stacks of medals at me. are they going to drop when someone kills me>?

I put a lot in my inventory to keep supplies safe in the warehouse. Now they are not safe in inventory.
