Buff in portals

The buff that was created with the intention of "improving" the game today is the main complaint of the players, a massive pvp and without any kind of fun, what's the point of simply not dying? Spending hours, money to make damage sets and not making any difference, the company could listen to the players at least once, remove this buff, or simply balance it, today it is becoming boring both defending and attacking, which is one of the few things that was fun in the game

the buff was created to dismantle alliances. it works in favour of the attackers and in favours of defenders. when 2 clans attack both have the buff but the draining rate is different depending on how many buildings each clan has. so its ok

If the buff was really made to "dismantle alliances," it completely missed the point.
What it actually did was dismantle PvP

Right now, both attackers and defenders abuse the buff to avoid real fights. Players run tank builds, sit in place, and either drain or heal with almost no engagement and still get rewarded

Even worse, two attacker clans can’t fight each other anymore. They can both attack the same gate, but since they both receive the attacker buff, they’re basically allies, unable to contest or interrupt each other. Whoever drains more HP wins that's all
And let’s not ignore the most broken part where multiple attacker clans can hit the same target, but only one clan is allowed to defend, make it make sense
The buff lasts way too long, even after leaving the site, which means defenders often die before reaching the gate and getting their own buff

This isn’t strategy, and it’s not balance. It’s a system that rewards passivity over skill, and that’s why it’s become boring for both attackers and defenders

dismantle alliance by preventing allies to try defend builds that arent theirs is where dismantle alliance part comes from tho.

No, they can’t do the same. Only one clan defends, attackers stack, it’s not the same dynamic, stop twisting it
Defender's allies can't do the same, they don’t get the defender buff and are practically locked out of real interaction, meanwhile attackers clans can just attack together and have the attacker buff together against one defender clan

The game is promoting passive gameplay.

Exactly what u said, two attacker clans are unable to stop the attacking clan from draining, so the attacking clan can just stop attacking and wait to take a gate because you can't kill the opponent anyways, doesn't pay off putting effort.

The other guy who wrote the post first also said a good point, u invest so much gc to make damage sets and they have 0 purpose then.

another thing is, if you had to wait 2 minutes, the attacker takes gate, you kill him after his buff ends. Makes sense. But no, you need to spend so much time just standing in gate dealing 1.5k damage and the process takes at least 15 minutes. Made the game completely boring.

This morning I woke up, opened ds, saw a gate that needs retake, I clicked on attack gate, left like that, made smtn to eat, ate, cleaned the dishes and came back to game seeing that even after so much time I didn't retake the gate. What's a person supposed to do in the process of retaking a gate from a clan with not so many gates if I wasn't going to eat etc? Just stand n stare into the screen? I don't understand the goal n the point.

Finally someone gets it. The current system doesn't promote skill, timing, or coordination but it promotes passivity. Two attacker clans can’t stop each other from draining because they both have the buff and can’t damage each other, so what do they do? They just sit there and wait. Why bother fighting when standing still is more effective?

All that effort players put into building damage sets, investing GC etc. completely worthless in this system. The fights don’t reward performance. It’s a PvP game where PvP is punished

So yeah, you log in, see a gate, click attack, and go make breakfast. Come back and you're still draining. What kind of gameplay loop is that? What exactly is the point of staring at a screen while the game punishes action and rewards idling?

This whole system is a failed experiment. It’s not tactical, it’s not fun, and it’s definitely not competitive. It killed the point of attacking and defending, destroyed meaningful PvP, and made everyone a slave to timers and broken mechanics
At this point, it feels like the devs forgot what kind of game they’re making, this isn’t a war game anymore

I simply said what was suppose to be idea behind the buff i never said that buff had no side effects for gameplay tho.

I understand your point of view, but you're only trying to remove a system without offering any alternative that aligns with the developers' intent for this mechanic. The system was created to balance the offense and defense in games against gigantic alliances. Currently, in DinoStorm, it's rare to find two enemy clans that would fight over who takes the portal. Most servers in the game only have two alliances: the dominant one and the one trying to take control of the server, which goes against your point.

The buff only applies to attackers and defenders, which means the clan with the most members inside the portal and attacking will gain the buff, while others don't get any advantage. Instead of trying to remove a system that mostly helps those who are draining against 8 different clans defending an ally, think of ways or alternatives to create a system that helps maintain fair and fun PvP for both sides. Otherwise, your only PvP will be against the Smilodons.

If you still want fair or balanced PvP, the game gives you two alternatives: go defend your own portals or attack a portal with your clan where you'll have to defend against the original portal's defenders and their allies. In this case, you'll see the system's necessity, not its destruction. Finally, I agree with your idea, but not in the sense of abolishing it, rather in the sense of reformulating it.

What you propose?
1. Shorten the buff duration
Once a player leaves the gate area, the buff should drop off after a few seconds, not linger long enough to wipe players without taking any damage

2. Prevent attacker clans from stacking against one defender clan
Reduce the buff's power if more than one attacking clan is involved on the same site

3. Allow attacker clans to compete with each other
If two different clans are attacking the same gate, they should not share the buff. They should be able to fight each other and truly compete for control

4. Tie the buff more closely to combat, not presence
Instead of simply standing in the circle, the buff could scale with actual PvP contribution healing, damage dealt, movement etc. to reward active play

5. Reduce the impact of reflect mechanics
Tank builds that sit still reflecting massive damage go against the point of skill-based PvP. Tone down reflect power, especially when the player isn’t moving or attacking

These aren’t extreme changes. they’re meant to bring back real fights without removing buffs. It’s about shifting the game back toward actual PvP

I believe that the relatively low IQ of these 3 same players who always try to defend this buff, does not allow them to understand that it is not about benefiting or harming alliances, but rather harming PvP in general...

from what ive read i believe almost everyone agrees, at some extent, that the game is not better than it was previous the endgame 3 update. Buff system is very unbalanced, needs tweaks and participating in elections feels uncertain for no-gate-holder players. And again, it would be nice to know when the devs will check out the suggestions and say something useful and concrete because more discussion of this topic only between community will lead nowhere

Why complain about you spending 30 seconds in the game that morning and didn't get anything for free?
