You can use jump gates/travel gates at any time if you have protection (even if you just finished killing an enemy)

Title. Why? for quests often times in MM you are required to walk distances which will be much faster via jump link. If you have protection this cannot be abused in any way against players, and only makes it easier for players to do quests/farm
