As for making it a Dino Storm Weapon, it should be mix between the two.
The Automation Gear is required for normal weapon attacks, the shot animation should be similar to that of Hunting Rifle (Yager) which is Coupe of shots then pause to reload.
Weapon Attributes is Completely Developers decision, for I shall not argue about the balancing part.
As for Skills, it would be customized Arrows launched by modern Gear, and the First skill would generate a new effect:
The idea is to launch Hooked Arrow folded & attached with a rope into the prey's flesh, penetrating to the other side, and unfolds to allow the hunter to grab it before it runs away.
As a Dino Storm effect, it will "Hook" the opponent and force it go in the direction of the skill activator and stop moving at melee range. (Opposite effect of "Fear")
This will be more beneficial for players who prefer to fight in melee combat, and will help attack bandit mobs that keeps evading melee and attacking from far or medium range.
As for the second Skill & its effect, I recommend the following:
This should have a negative effect on opponent Dinosaur and to be honest, I am not sure what it should be. It can be any of the current effect, like for example "Confuse" as normally poison makes the victim delusional. But I would personally prefer a new effect to make the game play more interesting.
How about an effect that makes the Dinosaur of opponent goes "Insane". Players will no longer have control over how the dinosaur move. Dinosaur could run in circles uncontrollably or it can continue doing whatever the last moving action were, if moving, then continue moving in that direction, if not moving, then stand still.
To be honest, I am not a "Big fan" of two tactical effects in the same Weapon, not to mention both being about Dinosaur movement, so how about that "Insane" effect be about something else? I ran out of ideas so I let you recommend on my behalf.
- High deadly damage
- Accurate
- Slow to reload
- Medium Range
