Individual Management of Less Active Servers to Boost Player Motivation

Hi everyone,

With the update limiting the number of unlocked buildings on each map based on participation in elections I wanted to share an idea that could be particularly helpful for less active servers.

On servers with smaller or less active player bases, it often happens that not enough players participate in elections, resulting in alot of buildings not being unlocked. This can lead to a decrease in player motivation, as they don't have the same opportunities for progression (especially if there are 2 enemy sides) as those on more active servers resulting in the server dying even more.

My suggestion:
Introduce a system for less active servers to manage them individually and improve balance. Specifically, the following measures could help:

  1. Automatic Building Unlocks:
    If participation in elections falls below a certain threshold, an automated system could fill in the missing votes to ensure a minimum number of buildings are unlocked on every map. This would allow all players—regardless of server activity—to access essential gameplay features.
  2. Server Bonuses for Smaller Player Bases:
    Less active servers could receive bonuses like faster fame gain or faster building upgrades to enhance player motivation and keep them engaged longer.
  3. Centralized "Server Missions":
    Players on less active servers could be given server-wide cooperative objectives tailored to the number of active participants. Completing these missions could automatically unlock buildings or grant additional rewards.
  4. Enhanced Community Interaction:
    Developers or community managers could pay special attention to less active servers by hosting more events, surveys, or special challenges to encourage players to log in and participate.


Please let me know if you disagree with this and always share your opinions, and suggestions for improvement so that the devs would like it too (after all they're the ones putting stuff into the game :D).

3 and 4 would be the optimal one for me and 1 & 2 are the more lazy way to solve it all.

Its not that players don't wanna play, there are old players playing in e1 am1 and some leave for long time, or some return.
It's cuz old players are busy with their lives and when they leave the already less active server, it seems like a big difference but it's normal cuz the server is already a less populated place, that's why you see it that way.

This will force to rejoin all cross-server players to play on “dead” server. And what will happend if on dead server will be in day on-line over 120 players? So after 24h will be gone this “Boost”?

This will force to rejoin all cross-server players to play on “dead” server. And what will happend if on dead server will be in day on-line over 120 players? So after 24h will be gone this “Boost”?

ahhh i see now, well thats up to the devs to decide, but i would suggest looking at the average player count and see if it goes up. (the average player pop)

nahh here on asia people sell cuz the server is dying, you see people that own 20 accounts alone sometimes
