Hello cowboys and Rangers! I am announcing an alternative supported by the developers for those who want to play 'Dino Storm' on Linux operating systems almost natively.
As we all know 'Dino Storm' does not offer official direct support for Linux, for those who want to use some Linux distribution and still continue to play the game it ends up being harmed so that's why I created a script in 'bash' for you to install the 'Game Launcher' in a simple and intuitive way in your favorite distribution. To do this, just follow the installation instructions in the Readme.txt file and good game!
This script is guaranteed to work only on distributions based on Ubuntu 18.4.* LTS or preferably 'Linux Mint' and to ensure correct installation the installation script must be run in the 'Command Terminal'.

To download the installation files
Code:
<a href="https://sourceforge.net/projects/nooblinux-repository/files/Jogos/Game%20Launcher/" target="_blank" >"Click Here"</a>
to access the website where the code is hosted!

Hi, I made an account especially to thank you! I thought there was a typo in the launch script - where "cut -c18-25" and the starting screen was 1920x108 instead 1920x1080, so the game was actually unplayable. After some tinkering and googling I decided to try "cut -c18-26", so the cut command to not cut the last digit of the resolution in the .tmp file and it finally works. So there is no typo in the launch script actually :) I am so glad my little 7-year son could play this game on his linux pc. Thank you again!

Im a linux player. I dont know if this thread works but lutris guide did not for me.

There is a pretty easy way using bottles. This works on any distro. Bottles should be installed via flatpak and is basically a user friendly wine version as it does all the config for you.

On linux you cannot directly download the launcher, because for some reason the website doesnt let you. (I actually dont understand why. Even if yes, .exe files are only for windows, why would they go to the effort of hiding the download for non-windows users, when compatibility programs are everywhere...? but thats besides the point)
You can get the .exe file for the launcher-installer this way directly: https://cdn.splitscreenstudios.com/splitscreen/games/launcher/GameLauncher_Setup.exe (This link can directly be obtained by F12ing on the download page and looking for the hidden parts in case you dont wanna click any links or smth)
From there on its as if you were on windows.
you can start the installer in bottles and then select the launcher afterwards. everything should work as normal. First maybe check out how Bottles work if you dont know about it otherwise you might be slightly confused.

I do have an issue where if I switch off the window, I cant use my keyboard anymore. In bottles, I set the game to run in a virtual desktop, that prevents the issue. Although the game does lag a tiny bit that way.

Great to hear you got the game client running via Bottles! About the download restriction -- you are probably referring to a page that was set up to clarify that the client is designed to run only on Windows (it is the only platform we are officially supporting).

However, the download links for the latest client and launcher versions should not be restricted in any way, you can get those here: https://support.splitscreenstudios....ticle/View/158/63/latest-game-client-versions
