The new update with the introduction of new map(Green Volcano) has messed up in terms of game-play.
1- The drop rate of gems has been adjusted,in a sense it has been decreased. I agree with the increase in the selling price of the gems but the fact still remains that it takes twice the amount of time to collect the same number of gems than before. So it was rather easy to collect more gems within same time earlier as one would with the new update and sell in the market. At the end we would have had more dino dollars earned if it had been the earlier drop rate.
2- Buying dino or gun(of the respective level) is extremely difficult now. Earlier a level 20 gun would cost around 120 gems(Amethysts), now its 205 gems which can only be achieved if we farm gems for all day and forget about upgrading our dino. Same goes for the dino as well.
3- The new combat system- where dino will slow down for 2 seconds if sustains a hit, actually irritates more rather than being challenging. You get slowed down and are forced to kill the mobs that is not necessary plus that even slows the pace of farming mobs(to collect items for upgrading). especially in level20 area(which is full of alphas and veterans). Nobody(Atleast not me) considers that as a challenge.
4- The slow pacing in combat actually makes some dinos like coelo(or para) which are speedsters rather useless along with endurance implant.
So in total, we can say that from now on we can only expect to upgrade just one dino if we are to keep up with our rivals and sweep down all the mobs that you come across and

Hey forum mods, I didn't see this thread before I submitted my thread, so if you merge these threads, please use my Subject: [Green Volcano] March 25, 2014 update since it's more precise than Subject: New Update-Fail. I posted my thread from a saved draft before I saw this thread.

Now, on-topic... Splitscreen wants to sell gold coins (and I don't blame them), so they're making Dino Storm more difficult for leeches (players who don't buy) with each update. Who do you think Splitscreen prefers to play their game(s): hardcore players who play for hours each day to level up and upgrade (thus buying less gold coins for what they want or no gold coins at all), or casual players who buy a hefty sum of gold coins every Friday to buy what they want instead of playing hardcore for hours?
