Hey everyone, how’s it going? We’re back with another mini thread of ideas for the game’s future. The Acro model was a success, but we need something more — something stronger. We need an apex predator, a true rival for the Rex. And the perfect candidate for that role is the Spinosaurus.
The Spinosaurus, known as the “spine lizard,” was a carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Early and Middle Cretaceous period, about 112 to 93 million years ago. It was distinguished by its dorsal sail, formed by elongated spines on its vertebrae, and its long, narrow skull, similar to that of a modern crocodile. Its diet likely consisted mainly of fish, although it also hunted other dinosaurs and small animals.
Fossil remains of Spinosaurus have been found in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria, and its discovery has been fundamental in helping us understand the life and behavior of this prehistoric predator.
The Spinosaurus is the perfect rival for the Rex. Right now, we only have one apex carnivore that can be obtained for 20,000 crowns, so the Spinosaurus should be worth the same.
Making it cost the same as the Rex would bring plenty of benefits — the main one being the absolute hype to get the Spinosaurus no matter what. It shouldn’t be purchasable with gold or gems (well, maybe gems), only with crowns.
This would cause major clan alliances to break apart and fight over the Spino — which is great for players who are tired of peace and inactivity. The biggest appeal of the game has always been clan wars, and adding the Spinosaurus would massively increase player engagement. It would spark new conflicts over crowns and, as a result, bring back players who have grown bored of the current calm state of the game.
This monster should be tamed through effort and dedication. Time to fight for the crowns.
Ideally, once obtained, the Spinosaurus would be the perfect candidate for an anti-tank dinosaur. As you all know, the tank meta is way too overpowered right now, and it’s making the game a bit boring.
That’s why the Spino should fit perfectly in that role. My proposal for its abilities (which should be offensive since it’s an attacker) is a bleed effect that deals more damage the more health the enemy has.
For example: if you have a Brachy with 1 million HP, the bleed would drain around 70–90k health. If you’re a carnivore with 400k HP, the bleed would deal about 5–10k damage. Obviously, that’s just an example, but an ability like this would fix — or at least balance — the current meta quite a bit.
As for the second ability, it could be whatever fits best or sounds the most fun. I’m honestly just tired of tanks dominating everything, and a skill that scales its damage based on the opponent’s health would be perfect for that, haha.
Once the introduction is ready, thanks to everyone who reacts to these threads. Sooner or later, this will make a bit of noise (maybe just a little). I’m fully aware that it’s rare for the game to get updates, but hey — it’s good to dream every now and then.
Finally
A) Would you like the dinosaurs to have animations for their abilities? Like 2 animations demonstrating their skills, of course—but that would take more time.
B) Skip the animations and add lots, and I mean lots, more dinosaurs. This would take less time, but you’d get to see a wider variety of awesome dinos.
