Yes, it's a level 15 Brachiosaurus. However, even if I do manage to kill it, I don't think it will actually drop anything at all.

-Clicking 'Follow this quest' just points me at the same Brach.
-Pressing space or 1234 will result in 'Invalid target'.
-'Offer help' results in a new quest, both quests point at the same Brach.

Edit:
-It doesn't work with Transporter Brachis or immortal Brachis (with the blue markings).
-Going near Brachis that actually do give the ite seems to fix it.

I don't see anything unusual there. The blue indicates it is the kind of animal you want for the dna drops. You are not guaranteed a drop every time, only that it will point you to the correct kind of dino. Blue is used for several things in the game, usually indicating what you are looking for. If the target circle is blue, like the outlaw hunters and the brontops you feed then you cannot shoot it. Your target circle is green so you can shoot it and hope for a dna drop, or bones or meat. Maybe you need to relog if you cannot shoot. That usually works for me.

Guys, green means that the NPC or Player is friendly. These are things you have to protect, but also friends and clanmates.
The things you can attack have either a grey/white or a red circle, indicating they are mortal or even hostile.
Blue is used for immortal beings, such as Outlaw Hunters, NPCs such as Villagers or 'Farm Animals' (like Brachis in Mokon, Brontops in Goldfields or the Young Dinosaurs behind the fence in Dinoville).

The point is that these footprints are pointing me in the direction of a Brachi that's supposed to be defended and guided in a quest, not a wild one you can slay for items.

To be completely honest, you guys aren't very helpful. It happened a second time, and when it happens a third time, I will note which quest it is. I think it was 'Return prized Brachiosaurus female'.

I think I should also point out that the reason it only has 88 health left is that it was attacked by hostile NPCs, wild or quest related. Green/Friendly beings can NOT be attacked by players (except for friends, I think).

Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug that caused guidance for level 15 toxin cartridges to point to Brachiosauruses from a Casey Dunn group quest.

Is this a fix to your/the problem?
I see you were looking for Artificial DNA.
Changelog says Toxin Cartridges, but the fix seems related to this report.

Oddly enough, the same bug was supposedly fixed on Jan. 14th

When you have a real problem in the game you must contact support. They will look into it from their end. All we forum users can do is offer our opinions and experiences. I never see anything with a green circle in the game. I'm glad it was a glitch and that it was, hopefully, fixed.
