so i figure i'd seize the opportunity with this horrible update to make a list of what i personally feel has been beneficial and what i feel has hindered the game! please feel free to comment though apparently ds doesn't let you edit posts anymore. <.<

good things

- general bug fixes obviously. ds has a ton of bugs that need fixing and it's good whenever they get fixed.
- removing pots and adding boosters/heal ability. since boosters can be won and hunted in auctions, i think this was a huge improvement from when i first started playing! i guess this can be put under combat evolved but i felt it needed its own little comments.
- attributes/triforge. attributes again make war more interesting and give reasons to hunt. the triforge still needs a lot of tweaking (i.e. predictability) but it's a good concept.
- upgrade items. when i first joined, you had to quest constantly for things to upgrade your gun, dino, etc. it was awful and i remember it clearly. it took me ages to level my things back then.
- new skins and clothes. obviously this is nice because it gives variety to items and lets players have a bit more customization! we could use some more but that's... not my biggest concern. at all.
- outlaw hunter powers. i like this personally because it makes being outlaw more of a weighty thing, whereas it used to be you could outlaw with little to no punishment. of course people still do it, but it's funny when they get thrown down fast.

bad things
- respawn times. this has been bothering me for ages.[/u] they keep upping the respawn time so you have to buy the gel (which is ridiculously expensive btw) and that barely does anything. i'm pretty sure the current spawn time for a non-clan spawn is something like 36 seconds? absolutely ridiculous. it interrupts the gameplay experience and it's just... totally unnecessary.
- gels. it's a good concept i'll admit - in theory. the application of it really... isn't that great, or beneficial, in any way. they're expensive, don't work well unless stacked, and some of the "advantages" of using them are limited by what they are. need to be reworked i think, or just removed. they don't do a whole lot for the game.
- elections. again, another good concept. HOWEVER, the way the elections are now, they can be heavily manipulated so that one clan monopolizes them entirely. (i.e. clan steel romero) as another user said, there are roughly what... 25 sheriffs a year? and if one clan monopolizes that position, that's a whoooole lot of users that get left out for the running. elections need to be balanced heavily.
- attributes wearing out. this is the newest update, and it is just... why? lol that's really all i can think of. considering the fame wear per day, clothes will only last a few days before they need to be renewed or a new set needs to be triforged. it's a huge waste of time, money, and resources. not really any way to rework this. just get rid of it.
- dino dollars instead of gold coins. another update from today, pretty much every method of getting gold coins through DS itself has been removed! for players that don't have much access to money (younger players, poorer players) this is a huge huge problem. it's catering to those that can buy gold coins. you spend your RL money, you win. DS should not be a microtransaction-oriented game.. leave that to facebook.

i'm certain there are things i'm forgetting, but these are the ones that come to mind immediately. i'll probably post more when i think about them. but please do comment and share your thoughts!

- Who's Harley... :?:
- The Update vote (Nov 09, 2013) thread is similar to this thread.
- As you stated in the Yet another thoughtless update. thread...

stop making your game pay-to-win and make it WORK-to-win.
IMO, players have made this game pay-to-win and pay-to-be-fashionable.
Some people aren't playing to win anything (anymore)...
they're playing because they like playing dress up and putting together fashion sets.
They could care less about attributes because they don't fight... they just want to look the best.
These players helped Splitscreen realize more money can be sucked out of players from fashionable items.

Sorry, didn't explain my last sentence...
If players are buying gold coins to look good, think of how much gold coins will be bought to get attribute points back by renewing fashion sets instead of forging new items!

Players aren't buying to look good. It has become essential to have high-level equipment to move up or even to play without being killed by every outlaw who feels like ruining your game. DS really messed up this time. If this does not get changed back I truly will leave this game and all my accounts will stop being played, not just 1. DS doesn't seem to realize each player that is angry enough to quit may be taking several accounts with them leading to not just 1 player lost but many. Each player that stays because they enjoy the game will usually get friends to play and increases the number of players.

haha disagree. many players don't fight or fight back or even know/care about what's important to win battles. they only care about matching their hats, shirts, pants, and skins to look unique.

That is the biggest problem I have with the recent thoughtless update. A lot of us have spent countless hours hunting to upgrade our clothes and items. SOMEONE saw that and decided that they could profit from peoples loyalty and flipped the switch to screw us all over. Sometimes it feels that we are just performing in a lab so that the people that run this place can find more ways to squeeze every dime out of us. Maybe its time to throw the loyal, Long time players a bone for once? Not everything should be about money.

I mean, okay, I wouldn't be as pissed off if they made, say, level 0 to level 10 items drop from mobs. But I doubt that'll happen.

Also, wtf, now damage boosters drop really rarely and then when they do drop, it's only 25 of them? Daf*q.
