How long did you think a free-to-play game would give away their bread & butter (gold coins) for free?
A lot of free online games make money from Google Adsense, but Splitscreen doesn't.

The only problem I have with them removing gold coins from quests is no announcement prior to removal. If I was still a daily player (or had plans to play again), I would have accumulated as many gold coins before February 11.
