Can't run when being attacked?

This may be a stupid question but I first played about a year ago and haven't played again since then. Now when I am attacked by either another player or random dino, my dino just starts to do this really slow walk and I can't either run away from the attacker or run to lead the mob behind me. Is this the same for everyone? If it isn't, how can I fix it? If this was brought in as some kind of update while I was gone, it's really annoying!

I think this is yet another intentionally annoying effect... meaning, this is not a bug and happens to all players.

You can't run away so you die more. You are overrun by bandits and can't run away so you shoot up more of your boosters to keep from dying. Many will spend coins on compact respawn things to avoid having to fight their way through a mob again to pick up what was dropped when they died. You will have to buy more boosters because you'll use them up faster when you used to be able to simply run away. Also any gels you use are running out of time while you are waddling away the best you can. Every time you are slowed you don't get the full benefit of your health, experience and other gels because they are timed. This makes you buy them more and get less from them. More simply put, it is to get more money from you faster.
