I took a break for about 6 months, wasn't sure if any of the older players are still active, like a year or longer playing. Just curious, wanted to chat them up a bit and discuss the game a bit

But most players who quit the game, leave the forum as well....I am an exception

Not trying to spam, but was December 2011 the "grand opening" year of Dino Storm?

If so, what would the original players like as a gift for your 2 year anniversary?

I'm still here. I was a little behind the original players but I think I qualify as an 'old player'.

i joined the game during the thanksgiving event 2012 so its pretty much a year... and i have almost played the game regularly even after getting the trex..... but now the updates have made the game a lot boring for the old players who knew the pre-updated version of the game which was quite fair than this one.... i only come to play to chat with frnds otherwise game is not worth of any time due to lame updates

Sorry its taking me so long to reply, working/life, but i've been playing since the open beta also. I've seen a lot of my good friends and strong players grow tired and leave the game and its upsetting. After the updates, most of my current friends and i have maxed everything out again and have nothing left to do besides farm for clothes to triforge, which is frustrating in itself.

The only enjoyment i have anymore in DS is wars and killing people, other than that it has lost its appeal. It is weird to fight without pots but i've adapted pretty well. Superior Clothing is now indispensable in a battle depending on the attributes and quality. I like the fact that its a way to diversify fighters that have the same dino/gun/level.

What do you guys feel is the best and worst with the new system? What would you like to see changed/improved and what would you like to see stay?

you said it all....the new system with attributes really is the key and i'm glad they did it....but the thing is that when they got rid of pots and put dinos/guns and all that in profile, they made it sound like we'd have more inventory/warehouse space....but they added boosters/gels, and now the triforge, which we need to have room for items to be able to make higher lvl ones.....they really should address that, give people 5 more slots for free, or make them ALOT less costly

Exactly! Each big update has (a) flaw(s)! I sold the Halloween rewards since I can't use them in the triforge. No point in keeping crap in the warehouse that aren't consumables or can't improve my dinos & guns.

They should add sections in the warehouse with 10 free slots each.

I'm an old old player who has come back. I had laptop issues that kept me from the game. Everything has changed and all my friends have gone :(

Not sure if I count as an Old Player, I still hang about (albeit not a lot) in the forums, not too active in-game though. :(

I still come online from time to time.

PS: Not sure if you remember me Valek, but welcome back to DS. :D

One thing I noticed with the new triforged items is that people have difficulty when they want equal pvp. Not everyone has the same gear qualities, attributes and levels and you can't simply remove it all to make both players match. I would like to see a pvp option to neutralize items of your gear so when players want to test their skills at fighting they can get a truer picture of what they are accomplishing. The way it is now people question whether it was their agility saddle or their focus hat that won or lost the fight rather than being able to see if it is their own skills that need work.

Hi I am an *oldstar* I started playing September 2012 game was still closed beta then and very different....there are not many on EU1 where I play anymore. my dear friend CharlieDorrell still plays but the trouble with this game is once you have got your rex and all other dinos are maxed...what is there to do ...nothing at all....I still help my clan but not everyone is happy just to do this as they say it's boring ...so that's why not many of us left :sneaky:

Exactly! There can only be 25 elected sheriffs per year (between January 1st and December 31st), so Splitscreen must think they have a lot of time (years) to develop and implement new features and content since the ultimate goal of Dino Storm is to be elected sheriff to unlock the T-Rex and so few out of hundreds (maybe thousands on America_1) of eligible (level 20+) players can possibly win the election.

I am also an "old player" as you might call us. When I mean old we are talking about the "beta" version days. We definitely are a dying breed cause there are not a lot of us left that still play. I still play the game whenever I can cause of friends. I also play cause I enjoy helping and meeting new players or "noobs" as you call them to learn the game. Becoming a sheriff is hard work and definitely an accomplishment and it can take a while to become a sheriff. My advice for those that want that T-Rex is to never give up and work hard and trust me it is worth every second of fame you earned to get one of these bad boys!!

hahahha pretty poor advice for the new upcoming sheriffs..... i have been sheriff for the past one year and believe me T-REX is the lamest and weakest dino of the game... T-REX IS WEAK... and there are absolutely no sheriffs on europe 2 who still use their rex and thats the clear indication of how weak REX is

To twist a well-known phrase, it's not the size of the dino it's how you use it. Maybe players on that server have not mastered using their t-rexes
