Add setting to lock in the vertical part of the camera. We adjust it how far away from the dino we want it then we lock it.

Learn hand coordination it's not that deep. If you play literally any other game except from dino storm you will notice the camera works just like how it is now. I want to be able to see freely around without having my vision handicapped simply because I chose to ride something smaller. I will agree to have it as a toggle able in the game settings for those who feel more comfortable with the previous camera but not removed. They are finally working on quality of life changes in the game and most of you whine for no reason.

Now we have many more angles and possibilities with them, you can walk around Maujak without worrying about not seeing the scenery ahead, or use a mini baby dino without only looking at the saddle, now the game is very cinematic

but a option to disable the verticale while holding rightclick would be GREAT!

To turn around and see how far is enemy when running away from him and trying to turn around back to see where I'm running to not bump into a object, river or hill. This is main example.

@Evyus Yeah, it's a nice "adaptation", but there could be a lockable position for the camera, since not everyone likes it and in PvP it does more harm than good.

I was legitimately thinking yesterday night about how nice would it be for an advanced camera to be introduced since most people would have tiny dinosaurs and it would be more pleasant and comfortable to be able to freely look around compared to the old camera. It's not a bad thing to improve the overall game experience. Even if it seems unimportant or not discussed previously, slowly and steadily it will shape the game into a proper game. Can't have all the extra stuff if the core gameplay is bad. This community will never be satisfied with anything but I will agree to you that there are more important things to focus on. I just think it's good to appreciate they finally show some love to the game and hopefully we get more playable guns and dinosaurs to increase variety and spike the interest of people who already play and for those who think of returning/starting for the first time

I think that few people complained about camera when dinos sizes were increased, maybe also people complain in support or directly from GMs, who knows.

In previous feedback, the community loved the new camera, except for this detail: we need a quick shortcut (like the "Q" key) to lock/unlock the camera on the vertical axis, so we can quickly perform side swipes or angle changes.

Yes, that's right. The new camera is really cool, I liked it a lot too, but the fact that it's 'too free' all the time ends up being a bit of a hindrance. I agree that a shortcut would be ideal

The camera was adjusted to help to get a better feeling of the new dino sizes. Also to allow to adjust the angle better on maps like maujak mauntain with the steep slops. Adjusting the pitch also makes the game more immersive as it is not a almost top down view when zoomed out. This helps also with the visuals from the buffs when fighting the giant bosses. We tried to keep the old camera feeling as much as possible with an optional addition for you to use and adjust the playing view to your liking. An option to lock & store the current pitch could be an option in the settings in the future.

Yes, that would be interesting. Sometimes the fact that the camera is always free on the right mouse button slightly hinders the gameplay, that's what I meant. But otherwise, it's great.

Why not add a more complex Settings menu where people can change things as they want? Why are we all forced to use the same camera settings?
I get that some people prefer the new camera, others don't. Why not give everyone the choice to change their own camera settings and make both sides happy? Just add a tab on settings, like the Quality one, where we chose what our right click button does: move the camera just sideways (like it was before) or give free rein (like it is now)

The new camera height offset (right click vertical maus drag) can be adjusted to your liking and locked and stored through the settings window in the next DS version. That also makes that the camera keeps its setting even after changing zones or when the client is restarted. Even the Q key can be used to lock/unlock it
